Is Work place going to evolve to hybrid culture 

A lot has been written about future of work. My analysis of two pieces that appeared Economist and WSJ on work place evolution post covid.

What is it saying: 
So many meetings. Working from home full-time is coming to an end for many, with some employees preparing to return to the office a few days a week. While early surveys have shown that remote work did not reduce productivity, a new study concluded that the longer hours employees put in working from home did not translate into a rise in output. Why? They had less time to focus because all their extra time was taken up by meetings.

What is it saying 
Desk sharing. As millions of workers head back to the office this summer, many of them will not have their own permanent desk. Instead, they will work at hot desks—randomly assigned spots that are shared with other people on different days. With flexible work arrangements likely here to stay, employees can expect to get used to these hot desks—and the extra time and effort that comes with managing reservations and helping employees feel a sense of belonging.

One can’t assume we’ll return to the same culture that existed prepandemic. There’s been too much change, both at the individual level and at the business level

Insight:
Why it matters. The pandemic has changed the way we work, and the hybrid model seems here to stay. What does this mean for the postpandemic workplace? Many talent experts say now is an opportunity for leaders to remake culture and reshape how organizations are run.

Insight from the new book "The story of work" by Jan Lucassen. Work that never ends

The more things change, its turn out to be the  same as it ever was.  A new book about the history of work reveals that today’s workers have much in common with all those who have come before them over the past 12,000 years.  People’s appetites drive them to produce more than they need, and they build political and economic institutions to help them do it. Then those institutions drive them to do more. NYT ( see the story in the link)  also talks about  Gluttons for punishment.  We work so much because we want so much. Influencer Marketing - Creating Conversation, Don't just be part of it.

Influencer Marketing is growing rapidly   Influencer outreach has matured, grown in size, influence is still defining itself within the world, jockeying for position among more established routes to consumers.  Instead, we must acknowledge the role influence plays in reputation management, and how its unique success can best benefit the company.  The question is no longer if you should partner with influencers.  At the outset, many were skeptical of this approach to communication. Indeed, as social media matured, this new kind of stardom, or at least fame, was not wholly embraced.  Create Conversation Don't just be part of it   The conversation is no longer something that you can plan for on a calendar. Today, it happens serendipitously.
